Friday 15/08/2008  BSAR Training Officer in Outer Mongolia

BSAR Training Officer, Vicki Spill is in one of the 300 car teams that are presently taking part in the Mongolian Rally. Details of her progress and ways to sponsor her on this charity drive, can be found via their team website. All charity sponsorship will be very gratefully received.

Monday 11/08/2008  Two at Once

BSAR were contacted by the Police today when they had two people missing at once. Since one was from High Wycombe and the other from Beaconsfeld, the same Inspector was handling both cases.

Before a callout could be initiated news came through that both had been found almost at the same time.

Saturday 09/08/2008  A wet but successful Open Day

BSAR were please to take part in todays' successful Thames Valley Police Open Day. Despite very wet weather some 2,000 people attended this annual event.

Friday 01/08/2008  New Look for BSAR Vehicle

BSAR's Control Vehicle has now been sign-written so we should now stand out from the crowd at callouts and events. The reflective rear marking will also improve safety when the vehicle is used whilst parked on a road.

Thursday 17/07/2008  Ascot Search

BSAR members assisted colleagues from SEBEV, Berkshire Search Dogs and police to search for a missing 92 year old female from North Ascott. While searches of the area around her home were being carried out news came in that she had been found walking back from the shops in Bracknell.

Sunday 06/07/2008  Briefly Missing

BSAR were again briefly mobilised, for a missing altzheimers patient who was quickly found within the Respite Care centre.

Saturday 05/07/2008  A Short Search

BSAR were mobilised to search for a 35 year despondent male, missing near Slough. Luckily the person returned home shortly after the start of the search.

Friday 27/06/2008  Wendover Alert

BSAR were placed on standby for a missing 65 year old female and her dog. She was safely found in Great Missenden before the call went live.

Saturday 21/06/2008  Scafell Pike Remains Elusive In Summer Gales

Eleven walkers from BSAR set out on Saturday to climb Scafell Pike via Sca Fell. Although the weather was initially good, it began to rain just before the ascent to Sca Fell. As the team climbed the scree to the summit of Sca Fell, the Lake District wind and rain grew slowly worse.

Monday 16/06/2008  Red Alert

BSAR we put on red alert at 1215 for a 75 year old missing person reported missing in Oxford.

A standown was received following the person being subsequently found in London.

Wednesday 11/06/2008  Missing Woman, Brackley

Members of BSAR, Midshires Search & Rescue, and Berkshire Search & Rescue Dogs were called by Thames Valley Police to help search for a missing woman on a large country estate near Brackley on the Northants/Oxfordshire border. An initial search had been carried out by estate staff, family, police dogs and, due to lakes on the grounds, the TVP underwater search team.

Thursday 05/06/2008  1st Holmer Green Scouts

3 members from BSAR gave a talk to the 1st Holmer Green Scouts this evening. The talk included the roles of BSAR and the equipment we use, together with a general talk about water safety awareness.
